Manchester United began the game on the back foot as Everton took control of the early stages at Old Trafford. The Red Devils struggled to get going and the visitors looked like they were going to capitalise on their mistakes.

This was until the 34th minute when Marcus Rashford opened the scoring as he met Bruno Fernandes's corner with a crafty finish from the edge of the box, which took a deflection off of Jarrad Branthwaite and hit the back of the net. The floodgates were now open and the home side grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck.

Rashford's opener was shortly followed by Joshua Zirkzee's first goal shortly before halftime. The next half was completely Man United's from the start as both forwards racked up another goal each and Everton showed little threat. The game ended 4-0 and Ruben Amorim celebrated his first home Premier League game in style.

Player Ratings are as follows:

Andre Onana - 7

He made two saves and commanded his box well as usual. He also had a 96 per cent pass completion rate and ended the game with a solid clean sheet.

Noussair Mazraoui - 6

The ever-so-consistent Moroccan had another good game against the Toffees, doing a decent job going forward and in defence.

Matthijs De Ligt - 7

Playing as the middle centre-back, De Ligt had a respectable game as he dealt with Everton's physical presence well and looked comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Lisandro Martinez - 6

Despite picking up his 5th yellow card of the season, Martinez kept Everton's attackers quiet throughout the full 90 minutes and handled the pressure well down the left-hand side of defence.

Amad Diallo - 9

The Ivorian had another truly special performance racking up two assists. His relentless work ethic and technical excellence were on display at full force as he gave Everton's defenders nightmares.

Kobbie Mainoo - 7

The 19-year-old came back into the side after being absent for over a month and looked extremely comfortable on the ball. He had a 94% pass completion rate and was fully match-fit as he played 80 minutes.

Casemiro - 5

A 5 may be slightly harsh but his passing was sloppy and he looked quite slow. Tackling was fairly decent but overall he looked very average.

Diogo Dalot - 5

On the contrary to Casemiro, Dalot did his job going forward but looked very dodgy defensively. It was not an atrocious performance from the Portuguese wing-back but it was clear that Man United will need to look at a more comfortable player to play on the left.

Bruno Fernandes - 8

Showed his class throughout the game. Fernandes looked extremely threatening and creative all the time and came away with 2 well-earned assists.

Joshua Zirkzee - 8

This was a much-needed performance from the Dutchman who has struggled with confidence. He held up the ball well and scored two goals. Hopefully, Zirkzee can keep the momentum going forward into the busy festive period.

Marcus Rashford - 9

Starting at left wing, Rashford had a point to prove heading into this fixture. His point was more than proven as he was electric running down the wing, and his two goals were more than deserved.

Subs:

Harry Maguire - 6

After coming on for De Ligt, Maguire defended well and shut down Everton's attackers.

Luke Shaw - 6

Could have been higher if he was on the pitch for longer. He looks fitter each time he touches the pitch and had a good performance as a substitute.

Alejandro Garnacho - 6

Came on and looked good on his preferred left-hand side. Managed to get a shot off and dribbled effectively.

Manuel Ugarte - 6

Ugarte brought on his fresh legs and pressed with intent. He did not get the ball much but could very likely start against Arsenal midweek.

Mason Mount - N/A

Did not play enough to get a rating as he only came on the pitch for around 10 minutes.
