The New York Jets have been making some moves in the last two weeks. The team announced the surprising firing of Robert Saleh, followed by the promotion of Jeff Ulbrich as interim head coach.
The team also acquired star wide receiver Davante Adams in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Jets traded a conditional third-round pick to land Adams, and will take on his $11 million price tag as well.

Now, the Jets are reportedly placing wide receiver Mike Williams on the trade block after acquiring Adams in a trade.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, "The Jets are planning to make WR Mike Williams available for trade after acquiring Davante Adams. Williams signed a one-year deal this offseason and the current receiver room is just too crowded."
Williams came over on a one-year deal from the Los Angeles Chargers. Williams had been recovering from an ACL tear he suffered in 2023 but was working on getting back to regular action early in 2024.
Williams made his debut in Week 2, securing one reception for 19 yards. He was slowly being worked back into the Jets offense, and his most successful game was in Week 3 when he brought down four receptions for 67 yards.
Despite being one of the best wide receivers in the league prior to his injury, Williams has yet to find his footing with the Jets. Considering the team has one of the deepest wide receiver corps in the league, the Jets are now reportedly fielding calls for Williams.
The Jets acquired Adams and he will reunite with Aaron Rodgers once again. Now, New York boasts a receiver corps that includes Adams, Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, and backups Xavier Gipson, Irvin Charles, and more.
Williams might not have the best stats in 2024 thus far, but he is a proven receiver who could bolster the pass-catching of any team that he joins.
The Jets also did not have to give up a lot for Adams, as they sent a conditional third-round pick to the Raiders. Considering Williams is still a solid starter, the Jets might be able to land a fourth- or fifth-round pick for his services.

The Jets are clearly in a "win now" type of mentality and believe with Rodgers and Adams back together, they have an even bigger shot to make a run at the playoffs. The bad news is they remain without Haason Reddick, who has been granted a request for a trade.
With Reddick and Williams being traded before the deadline, the Jets might acquire some good draft capital heading into 2025.
