The Red Warriors, reigning champions in the boys and girls juniors and men's and women's seniors divisions in the UAAP, led the participating teams in this 2-day tournament organized by Canlas Fencing.

Leading the UE fencing squad are high school UAAP MVP Sophia Catantan and Aubrey Fernandez in girls, as well as Von Gale, Louis Shoemaker and Khiane Felipe in boys, while in seniors are Tipoy and Kulay Felipe in men's and Queen Dalmacio in women's categories.

"This tournament will give our fencers a chance to gauge where they are in terms of their preparation for the UAAP. All year long these fencers actually have various competitions, but having this kind of inter-club, or inter school, will provide us a clear picture of level when it comes to competing against other UAAP schools," said UE fencing team head coach Amat Canlas, a former head coach of the national team and co-founder of CF.

Aside from UE, other schools and clubs in this competition are University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines, Ateneo, Pasig Fencing, QC-Sep Fencing Club, Republic Fencing, Hampton Court Fencing Club, MIIS Fencing Club, Xavier Fencing Club, La Salle Zobel Fencing Club, Paref-Woodrose Fencing Club, Paref-Southridge Fencing Club and Alabang Fencing Club.

The fencing tournament of the UAAP is set in February 2024.

While individual competition will be played Saturday, the exciting team event is set Sunday.
