PCC Centennial Open Chess Tournament set on October 21

Everything is set for the staging of Philippine Cultural College Centennial Open Chess Tournament to be held on October 21, Saturday, at the Philippine Cultural College in Quezon City.

The tournament is part of the school's centennial anniversary celebration this year.

There will be cash prizes for the winners of the tournament organized by the Alumni Association.

The tournament has four categories: the Open, the 18-under, the 14-under and the 10-under.

The Open champion will bring home a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of P10,000, while the runner-up will receive a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of P5,000. The third placer will take home a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of P3,000.

The fourth and fifth placers will each pocket a medal, certificate and a cash prize of P1,000 and P500, respectively.

The top 3 winners in the 18 and under, 14 and under and 10 and under below division will bring home a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of P2,500, P1,500 and P1,000, in this order.

Special prizes will be given to the category winners such as the top female competitor, top collegiate player, top unrated player, top senior and top PCC alumni.

The proceeds of this event will be donated to the school's sports development program.
