The ANC Business Roadshow just aired an episode checking on the rapidly expanding e-wallet landscape in the country. For a start, they looked into young player Starpay's notable growth in the industry.
In 2021, Starpay's e-wallet earned recognition from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for its exceptional contribution to advancing digitalization during the pandemic.
Amid a multitude of e-wallet options available to consumers, Ryan Uy, head of Product and Marketing at Starpay and Jan Chan, head of Strategy and Corporate Development, emphasized on the program the value of providing a user-friendly platform enriched with benefits such as zero transaction fees and enticing discounts.
"Business Roadshow" praised the flourishing e-wallet sector, which has consistently unveiled numerous opportunities for businesses to explore new revenue streams while crafting innovative strategies to engage consumers.
Uy underscored on the side of Starpay, the financial group's commitment to the affordability, accessibility and suitability of their e-wallet has always been their guide in coming up with new features.
He stated, "To [make sure] our e-wallet is affordable, we [designed] low transaction fees and [believe we have] the industry's most generous discounts on electronic load."
Unlike traditional account setups that necessitate an array of documents, Starpay enables users to open an account with a school or company ID.
As Uy explained, "Our e-wallet is highly accessible, eliminating the need for primary IDs and accepting secondary IDs. We also aim to extend our services to third and fourth-tier municipalities, facilitating their adoption of the digital payment system."
Moreover, the executive illustrated how the company has been instrumental in providing electronic payment solutions to various LGUs through system integration and technological solutions for business permits, building permits, OTC transactions, and other payment channels.
"Business Roadshow" surmised that both efficiency and trust factor are of paramount concern for e-wallet users and assured viewers they will continue to feature companies like Starpay to help guide them in choosing the service to use.
